CIDOB conducts research and policy analysis on global issues in peace and security. As part of its work on security, CIDOB researchers have published on disinformation and EU responses, Russia’s Spanish media efforts, and deepfakes. CIDOB works with the German Marshall Fund to organize the Mercator European Dialogue, which convenes members of European parliaments to discuss public policy issues. Through this program, the German Marshall Fund convened policymakers in May 2019 to discuss disinformation and fake news in European elections.
