PACS runs the Program on Democracy and the Internet, which conducts multidisciplinary research on ways to maximize the benefits of the Internet while minimizing the threats it poses to democratic processes. Its scholars focus on social media and democracy, algorithmic bias and automated social engineering, the deterioration of digital information ecosystems, and political framing in media.
