The ad library provides advertising transparency by offering a comprehensive, searchable collection of all ads currently running from across Facebook apps and services, including Instagram. Ads can be searched via location and the following categories: all ads, issues, elections, or politics, housing, employment, and credit.
The library consists of a report and API. The Report allows users to explore, filter, and downlowd data for afds about social issues and access information about spending totals by advertiser and location. The API allows for keyword searches of active and inactive ads about social issues, elections, or politics. To access the API, individuals will need to confirm identity and location, create a Facebook Developer account, and add a new app.
