Media Cloud is an open-source media research project, enabling the study of news and information flow globally. The project is administered as a consortium collaboration between the Media Ecosystems Analysis Group, the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Northeastern University. It was
originally incubated at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Our open-source analysis tools are built on top of our global news database of over 1 billion stories, as well as APIs for social media platforms. The tools allow for the aggregation, analysis, delivery, and visualization of information, providing insights into complex quantitative and qualitative questions about the media.
